History Edit

The UMP-45 is a submachine gun manufactured by the German company Heckler & Koch. It is a variant of the UMP (Universal Maschinenpistole (English translation: Universal Submachine Gun)) chambered in .45 ACP. It was originally designed as a cheaper, lighter successor to the MP5 series. Despite this goal, the MP5 is generally more favored, due to its long-standing reputation as one of the most reliable, accurate submachine guns available. Additionally, the UMP is bulkier, and is less modular, most notably having no way to detach the iron sights.

Gameplay Style Edit

Like the other SMGs, the UMP-45 is a short range weapon that inevitably suffers in long-range engagements. Its fire-rate is low, and the recoil is as well, which allows for steady fire, however its damage is relatively low. Week 4 of Operation Nightfall allowed the UMP45 to use the 50 round drum magazines, which eliminates the issues of lacking ammunition of the UMP45.
