History Edit

The Browning HP, or "High-Power", is a handgun chambered in 9x19 Parabellum, and was invented by John M. Browning, and finalized by FN Herstal in 1935, after the death of Browning. Along with the M1911 and several models of Glock design, it is one of the most widely used handguns in military service, being used in over 50 countries, including the United Kingdom and Belgium. It has seen service in over a dozen conflicts, such as the Second World War, the Vietnam War, and the Korean war, and continues to see service in modern militaries, such as the Australian Defense Force. It was originally designed as a response to a request from the French military for a new service pistol, where it beat out all other competition. The request included requirements that the firearm to be compact, have a magazine of at least 10 rounds, be lethal at a minimum of 50 meters, and be easy to disassemble, maintain, and operate.

Gameplay Style Edit

It is the most combat-effective secondary in the game. While it lacks the burst capabilities of the Glock 22, or the impressive damage of the Deagle, it is a reasonable middle ground, hosting the same magazine capacity of the Glock 22, while dealing more damage. Compared to the Deagle, it has the benefit of being able to attach a suppressor to the muzzle, while also holding 12 rounds (20 with extended mag). It is a versatile, handy secondary weapon, that can be used to great effect by a skilled user.

Pros: Edit

  • Decent damage.
  • Can carry a total of 120 rounds, highest in class.
  • Overall low recoil.

Cons: Edit

  • Damage is still on low end of pistols.
  • cannot attach a flashlight, hindering night fighting capability without an NVG.
