Vests are tactical items worn on and around the player's torso. They are cosmetic items and do not affect character performance in any way.

Vests[]
While Chest Rigs lack protective qualities in real life, they sacrifice protection for load-bearing capacity. Chest rigs come in all shapes and sizes, some capable of customization and others preconfigured for a certain mission set. BRM5's chest rigs are made up of the latter.
Slick Rig | |

The Slick Rig provides the user with a few mags and a radio. It has limited customization options though, only offering different camos and the option to equip a backpack. | |
Rekrut Rig | |
The Rekrut Rig sports several large pouches holding magazines, communications gear, and general purpose items.
It costs 585, and cannot equip any accessories, including backpacks. |

In the real world, Body Armor Systems/Plate Carriers are designed to defeat ballistic projectiles by housing plates and soft armor rated to a certain threat level. Most of these vests are capable of bearing combat load, using PALS webbing or other attachment methods to do so. In-game, players have more customization options than just the vest itself, as pouches can be attached in a number of areas.

Backpacks are designed to hold equipment that otherwise would not be well-retained on a vest. All backpacks except the Assault packs change color depending on the color of the player's vest.

A nameplate is a plate in the back of the vest that says your role or anything that your comrades may need to know in combat. Currently, there is only purchasable one nameplate. Nameplates are obscured by most backpacks.
